Opening #1 - Part-Time: Organizational Assistant

We are looking for a unique person to act as a general assistant to our home-based, family business. From working in spreadsheets and business software to stocking our farm-stand, you are a very capable generalist with a positive attitude, organizational skills.

  • What We're Looking For

    • excellent administrative and organizational skills
    • savy with computer technology, social media, WordPress and other software
    • can work from own laptop
    • interest in organic gardening; experienced gardener is a bonus but not required
    • good with kids
    • someone who lives in close proximity to our home office in Vic West for low carbon-commuting
    • highly adaptable
    • positive & energetic attitude
  • What We Offer

    • 6-10 hours per week to start (could grow for the right person)
    • wage dependent on experience
    • WCB coverage + CPP, EI & vacation pay
    • paycheques bi-weekly

Opening #2 - Part-Time: Organic Horticulturalist

This role is for an experienced horticulturalist who lives in Greater Victoria.

  • Job Duties

    • Organic garden maintenance - including edible and non-edible plants - mulching, weeding, compost strategies
    • Helping clients troubleshoot issues in their garden (pests, disease, watering, etc...) and working on solutions
    • Driving a work truck, lifting up to 50 lbs, loading & unloading mulch/wood chips, weeding, mulching, pruning, training, fertilizing)
  • What We're Looking For

    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Horticultural training & experience in the field
    • Experience with organic farming or growing your own food an asset
    • Confidence assessing & addressing landscape challenges
    • Ability to work as part of a team, share & learn with others at times
    • Ability to work alone on sites at times
    • Personal tools and a truck are not required but an asset
    • Excellent plant ID skills, both perennial and annual food, herbs & fruit
  • What We Offer

    • 2 days per week to start in early Spring
    • $20-$24 / hr to start (depending on experience level)
    • WCB coverage + CPP, EI & vacation pay
